  1. A lot of mobile advertisements that I see now, are mainly teens in them. It’s mainly because there are more teen involved on their cellphone than ever before.
The advertisement is saying that since there are more apps created, then more people are going to be involved into phones. We are too involved with technology, we need to go outside and get out more.

As I do agree with you about the technology aspect of our teens today, you may want to stay with writing in third person. In your first paragraph you use "I", which could be used to reach out to a much bigger audience.

    6. I do agree with you. Now a days people especially teens spend more time in their mobile devices instead of the important thing in life like family or nature. For teens to understand the important of what they are missing they need to know the benefits and what they are really missing.Persuade teens to not spend a lot of time in their phones.

  2. While both advertisements use celebrities of roughly the same age group, Lancome and L’Ore’al visually show how their products make you look beautiful. The inference show its audience that by using their product will not only make you beautiful, but also defy aging and make someone more confident in their appearance. Many women want to look their best. So, if they feel that these cosmetics will make them look that way by buying a certain brand, then marketing did their job.
Cosmetic advertising can exploit our society by looks alone. It shows that natural beauty alone is not enough without the help of their products. For women to continue to look beautiful over the age of 45, women need to turn to these cosmetics for reassurance. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It is a choice for all women, they can either buy into these cosmetic advertisements or chose not to.

  3. The Coca Cola ad is somewhat of a sexist stereotype. The woman is drinking Coke Zero, which implies that women will prefer diet drinks, while the man has regular Coca Cola, implying that men have no worries about calories. A person could infer that Coca Cola believes women will only choose diet drinks and that could be offensive. The ad is also using young black models, which is a smart business move, considering the state of race relations in America currently. The ad is not stereotypically “whitewashed”, meaning only white models were used, as many were in the past and even up until present times.
The Coca Cola ad is somewhat offensive, especially from a feminist point of view. Body image is an important issue in our society and the use of a diet drink for the female model in this ad implies that women should choose diet drinks. Since this ad is targeting younger generations by using young models, it has the potential to lead young girls to believe that they should choose Coke Zero to be happy and content, just as the girl in the ad is. The use of African American models is also an important statement by Coca Cola, and a much better one than the sexist suggestion that women should drink diet drinks. The race issues that are plaguing our society right now are an extremely important topic. Coca Cola’s use of black models implies the company is paying attention to this, and that they are wanting to say their product is for everyone. The ad is pleasant to look at, and a lot can be inferred from the picture, but any advertisement that offends is not doing its job well. Coca Cola failed to put out the right message with this particular ad.

  4. I found that the younger liked the IPod add more because the colors were flashy and it looked like the girl was having fun. All parties found
both of the adds to be lacking in some way, the IPod doesn’t have much going on and the Zune is too much in your face. while the older people all agreed they didn’t like apple and seemed rather stuck on it when I tried to get them to focus on the add itself.
I believe that the IPod add was more successful because it seemed fun and exciting with the carefree girl. The bright flashy colors of that add campaign likely made it more attention grabbing.

  5. Both the Taco Bell and Burger King advertisements are making the food look as tasty as possible, hopefully luring customers to their businesses. In Taco Bell's advertisement, they are emphasizing the 1 dollar morning value menu by placing it right in the middle of the advertisement in big font. Since the breakfast items are 1 dollar, many people will buy them. Burger King has their delicious items spread out across the advertisement.

Both fast food businesses advertise in several different ways. They both have the main goal of attracting potential buyers. Both advertisements were well made with attractive colors and images. Burger King does not have the prices on the advertisement while Taco Bell does. These advertisements are top quality in the fast food industry and compete well against each other.

  6. Viewing the Calvin Klein ad, the inference would be that of a very happy, healthy relationship and life. The scent of the cologne will make you more engaging with your partner in a friendlier, intimate way. Sean John, on the other hand, would make an inference that a man will have an uncontrollable desire and passion for you. He will want you no matter where you are when you are wearing this perfume.
Sex Sells. After interviewing many different people about these advertisements, I have found that the more sexually explicit the advertisement, the less appealing the product is to consumers; however, men do not seem to be turned off by the same sexually explicit advertisements as women are. Perhaps the people I interviewed live in a more conservative area, because for a great majority of the country sexually explicit advertisements do sell products. These advertisements we see on a daily basis, even some showing semi-nude people for anything from razors to lingerie, while at home with your family. As a society I don’t feel we are teaching our kids good morals and values by allowing them to view such sexually explicit content. As far as advertisements are concerned, we should rethink what we, as a society, are okay with.

  7. Smoking is an issue that occurs among different generations in our society. It leads to a higher risk of developing and agitating the cancerous cells. As the advertisement shows a cancerous tumor on top of the cigarette waiting to enter the person's body and cause damage. The main objective of the advertisement is to warn and show the dangers of smoking. In contrast, the advertisement for "Mad Men" glorifies the action of smoking due to it being a depiction of an era long gone in which the consequences of smoking were not stressed upon. The advertisement for the show "Mad Men" conjures a mentality of this carefree attitude towards smoking.
The prevention of the development of cancer and other complications within the human body due to smoking. The advertisement is mostly aimed at a younger audience and people who just started smoking. Spreading the word of the risks of smoking that this advertisement depicts can lead to a better understanding of the consequences of smoking.

  8. When people were surveyed to determine which gym they would choose to join based solely on the advertisements, 40% of people chose 24 Hour Fitness, which 60% chose Equinox. The main indication of which advertisement was more effective was the age demographic of the person being surveyed. Those who were 40+ years old choose the 24 Hour Fitness ad with the clean cut, fit woman running on the track. The Equinox ad was popular among college age students. “This is an advertisement for a gym?!”, one woman asked, in reference to the Equinox ad. While an 18-year old college freshman said, “I’ve never actually heard of Equinox, but it seems like it would be more hardcore.” Overall, the Equinox ad resonated more with young people, who are more in tuned with modern advertisement strategies that tend to be more eccentric.
The inference made from this ad is that lacking commitment to something, such as a gym, leads to an undesirable lifestyle. There is a stereotype in American culture of, “the crazy cat lady”, which is a term generally given to women who remain unmarried or are unable to find a husband. The “cat lady” is considered lonely, promiscuous, and keeps lots of cats in her home to keep her company. This advertisement is leveraging that old stereotype by implying that if people don’t sign up at Equinox, they risk ending up lonely, in a dirty apartment, with only cats to keep them company. While this image is clearly a hyperbolic representation of, “the cat lady”, the underlying cultural reference and oddity of the image serves as a powerful attention-grabber.

  9. When these images were polled to a group of people selected by Survey Monkey, an astounding 90% found that the Uber image was much more appealing. Those survey were questioned about visual appeal, product recognition and overall effective advertising. The final results were reflected over and over. People enjoyed the black and white color selection as well as the clean look of the Uber ad. While a small majority liked the comic feel of the Lyft ad, they were in agreement that the Uber presented a much more professional feel.
When examining the undertones in the Uber image, we see they are appealing to the responsible, sensible working class with this campaign. The use of simple black and white and the simplistic picture styling is a direct call out to the sensible grown up in us. Demonstrating that not only is Uber there for you when you need them, it is the alternative to owning your transportation. Whether on vacation or away on business, they have your needs addressed. Going to your first interview or your first day, they can be trusted. This ad campaign in its beautiful simplicity is incredibly effective and direct to hit its target audience. This is a great example on how companies can use effective color selection and photo images to drive their message to the heart of the user.

  10. These are two completely separate people advertising two completely separate things. Mandy’s advertisement shows us how to prepare for something we want in life, and how we can survive in harsh conditions if we are determined enough. How having confidence in yourself can send a strong message to motivate society. While Kylie’s advertisement is focused more on a sports brand and how to look flawless wearing the brand. There isn’t much motivation in her advertisement other than the motivation to purchase the new 2016 Puma sneakers. The sneakers themselves are to be used for running like how the moto states, you will be “Forever Faster” if you purchase them.
Kylie’s advertisement shows how a popular sports brand uses a well known celebrity to endorse their merchandise in order to benefit financially. This becomes a social issue when we want to look good in the merchandise like the celebrity, other than wanting to use the product for its main purpose, which is for exercise. We need more advertisements like Mandy’s to show us we can achieve anything if we set our minds to it. We can succeed even in the worst conditions, just as long as we keep training. Mandy is reaching out to anybody who might be stuck in the middle of achieving a goal, even if its not a sport. Maybe you are a medical student in the process of becoming a doctor exhausted from staying up late studying just to wake up early in the morning to start the cycle all over again. Studying is your training and graduating from medical school is your Olympics. It is possible just as long as you don’t give up.

  11. The inference that I would make about the advertisements is that she got a lot of hate from people who disagreed with her body image, and you thought that a “big” woman should not be on the front cover of a “sports” illustrate magazine. How they bashed her for her not being a skinny woman and it was not right for her to represent a magazine like this. Also I infer that a lot of plus size women who seen this ended up getting the confidence and inspiration that they have always need to put themselves out there and be confident and beautiful. Most of the world bashes on plus size girls for either being unhealthy or not pretty, but when this magazine came out with Ms. Graham on the front cover that changed everything. Everyone was shocked about this coming out and some were furious but that did not stop anyone from releasing the image. Some people feel its history in the making, and still talk about it today. I also believe that she got a lot of support during this moment and got a lot of attention from everyone like the news, and the newspaper. Everyone must have been talking about it, how this is history being made. And how amazing the picture was taken and what a great the photographer was. I also infer that from her on out more and more magazines will be coming out with plus size activist or start changing in some way. From here on out I infer that more people will become more open about women being confident and showing off what they have that others do not. Maybe even more clothing lines and ads and commercials will have these women on their set. What lies beneath all this is that she got more attention from this image coming out and how plus size women also got more attention from this. I also believe there will always be people, who disagree with this type of thing, but who cares, this is not new; this is something on the rise and will keep rising.
The advertisement says about our society that it is time to embrace women and give women the support and love that they need to be able to be as confident as they want to be. It also shows that people around the world are changing their view on women and their looks and bodily image. Also magazines want to try and embrace this plus size woman who is so beautiful and who is working that camera pose. They want plus size women to have the courage to be able to go out and have fun and live their lives just as other women do. Everyone is equal in their own special way. We are not different; we are the same. The issues that are at stake with this advertisement are those who will try and bring down the courage of women who are trying to be open about their size and those who are trying to live their life’s as everyone equal person should. People will always talk about how bad and ugly this looks but who cares, they might try and bring them down but always remember. This is advertisement will always give women the confident and courage they need in order to do what they need to do. Also some magazines might try and say this is not right and even get a “skinny” woman and try to out play the plus size women. The advertisement that affects this is those who are not as confident as they should be or those who try and break people’s confidence. This also affects those who want to become a plus size model or a plus size actress. It will always affect somebody that is either against this or for this. What shall we do now you ask? Well let’s try and bring everyone women’s courage up, no matter what size or what color, every woman should have the confidence that they need to live their life as they wish. Also we can even have more plus size women as models and have them everywhere on the front covers of ads, magazines, commercials. No matter what we should change the way people view things. I believe that one day everyone will accept this and will be aboard on doing what is right.

  12. This advertisement may have more meaning behind it than some may see. In a way, it may represent the higher class. With all of the small things in the photo, such as the beautiful background of the city. Some people can not afford to live in a big city like the one in the picture. It may be considered a "dream home" to some. Some people can not afford iPhones and MacBook's and Apple mouse's. Because of this being in the photo, it may give it a feeling of this photo being higher class to certain people. The nice big glass window and glass desk indicate something along the lines of being a work office or a office in a nice condo. It gives that sense of being high class because of all the small things like these things just mentioned. In some cultures there may be a higher power and lower power, this may be the higher power because of how expensive the town and technology looks, they may have a high amount of money. They may have included the higher power, high class look in the picture to grab your attention and use this as an indication that Facebook is worth using because even the high class use it. The powerful, high class are the ones looked up upon by everyone. That is how it works with celebrities, they are looked up upon by most anyone and that is why they use celebrities in commercials for advertisement, it grabs peoples attention and focuses them to pay attention to the advertisement. This is the same thing with this photo only they are using the "dream life" or high class to grab your attention and show you that anyone can use Facebook and it is liked by the powerful, rich people. So why wouldn’t it be liked by us? This is a smart way of thinking and I believe it draws in attention to the Facebook screen on the computer. The picture, overall is nice and anyone who would see it would stop to give it a look.
With this advertisement being shown and directed towards trying to get people to use Facebook, it may show that our society can not live without technology and social medias such as Facebook. In a way this is true because overtime society has changed. Back then, a long time ago, technology like TV's, phones and computer's did not exist. They lived without these things, we were born with these things existing and our society would not know how to survive without them. It is a big part of our lives, especially when it comes to advertising. It is how we advertise everything. Without it people would not know what to do in terms of advertising. Commercials, websites, pictures, and social media post are a huge part of our everyday advertising; whether it be for a movie or a restaurant or even an event happening in town. This may cause a social issue because people are so stuck on using Facebook for communication, they may forget how to properly communicate in the real world. Communication and advertisement should not be the only ways to grab peoples attention. Using the high class should have to be used to grab peoples attention because no matter where you are economically, everyone should be equal. With all this information we should find ways to advertise that may grab someone's attention in a different way. Look and see what people might look up to in a positive way that has nothing to do with being rich or the "dream life".

  13. I believe that when these Super Bowl commercials about Pepsi and Coca-Cola Mini came out that everyone was impressed and thought that these commercials were pretty good for being during the Super Bowl breaks. Their ratings must have gone up for Pepsi and Coca-Cola products and the selling of each one must have went up as well. People wanted to buy some Pepsi or Coke mini after they had seen this. Plus, you know these companies have to pay good money in order to get their commercials on during the Super Bowl, since Millions are watching. They have to be good edited commercials that will make the cut. I even believe that since Janelle Monae was the cover of this year’s Pepsi commercial that she got a lot of attention for herself and her music. I also believe that the marvel characters that had been in the Coke mini commercial, that their rates went up as well. The meaning of each advertisement is they want us to buy their products that they are trying to sell. Whereas I’m pretty sure people in favor of the Super bowl went out to go buy some Coke or Pepsi since the Super Bowl’s halftime show is sponsored by Pepsi. When these advertisements aired they want their rating to go up, they wanted people to buy more of Pepsi. The things that lie beneath the surface of the advertisement is simply how they are trying to get into our heads with these commercials and ads with our favorite artist or our favorite actor or actress, even action figures like the Hulk. My inference is that their ratings went up and they started to bring in more money towards their soda products.
This advertisement says about our society is that we have celebrities or characters working for these companies to sell their products. It also says that our society is watching television so that’s how they know about these different advertisements. Also states that these companies who make these ads are trying to get our attention and that society listens to them and goes out and buys these things that these ads are selling. The social issues are that as humans we stay indoors too much and we are drinking sodas which have lots of sugar in them and are bad for our health. We listen to them knowing that it is not right too and end going out and grabbing us a Coke mini or even a Pepsi bottle, just after watching the advertisement. Also the issues with these ads is not everyone likes these two drinks so other people will either not buy any of these two sodas or simply just ignore the ad and not rate it. Also they could have some issues with the feedback of the ad. The people who are affected by this advertisement is the millions of people who are watching the Super Bowl or at the Super Bowl, even those who end up searching up “Super Bowl commercials”. They are bound to watch it. Also the children who watch this are affected due to the fact that they are going to ask their parents, “I want a Coke mini” just because The Hulk or Ant-Man we fighting over a coke mini. They will think that it is okay to fight over something to drink, but also it is fine to share a drink with a buddy. Lots of unwanted things and wanted things could come from these commercials. Whereas the Pepsi ad can give of the idea as where “can you buy me a Pepsi mom?”. Also it can give off a helpful tip, instead of drinking at the club or a party, have a drink of Pepsi. Plus, you will be having a good time with a Pepsi in your hand and your friends right next to you. The Pepsi ad could have some interest in children with the different types of themes that were staged. We shall make more appropriate advertisements, some that are fun and safer for our kids. Also we could cut back on the sodas and drink more water.

In addition, today Coca-Cola is a big name around the world and wants to advertise itself everywhere. It is all about the business and keeping updated with the business and technology in order to be a good seller.

  15. The advertisements say more about America, each candidate personality, abilities and what we are facing at the moment. This visual advert images can create awareness, fear, hope, trust, uncertainty, hate or love in all, the effect of the advert differs from one person to another due to reasoning abilities we possess. Each candidate is special and only God can understand the entire package of whom they are so we do not know them either. The image one candidate is on his way out of the white house as a President though nobody knows his plan after vacating the position and handing over to the new President to be. The candidate on the advertisement image two is running for the office of president but with no genuine persuasiveness and anything proven looking at the funny facial expression and the two thumbs up in the advert. Although both images donate that America having a great future, no one can sincerely express how they can get there and who to trust that will take us there. Viewing the President Obama’s advertisement, the interference has a great impact on our society today. But we have to trust God for another President like him or better than him in regards to our humans rights, safety, financial recovery and freedom of speech. The conclusion of what the advertisement says is that 2016 is an important year for us the Americans. Are we to continue with the democrats or the republicans’ at the helm of affairs of our nation? Are we to choose gender change or perfect people to take America to the unknown journey? Are we to have leaders that whether they are loved or hated are yet not known in the real sense of it? We all need to do something in other for us to get to where we need to be.

  16. This makes sense but the advert message might differ from each individual depending on the purpose and interference. Nobody is perfect though we are all working on it, it is good to accept people as they are or God made them to be because we do not have power to change individuals. God has the final say and he is the only one that can change people if necessary.

  17. These cigarettes define women of these time. It is suggested that women are to be pretty and strong but not dominate. Eve cigarettes portray the idea of being free spirited and more feminine as Virginia Slims portray the idea of being and strong virtuous woman. Colors used in the Eve advertisement bring site to the beauty of the world where as the advertisement for Virginia Slims brings a more sophisticated, powerful, and sexy look. Décor is used on eve package to bring pretty look as Virginia slims simplistic approach was bring an idea of boldness. Eve cigarettes focus on the color scheme and location of the product whereas Virginia Slims focuses more on the text and statement.
During a time of war and oppression that were being brought to the surface, a statement was being made about women’s rights, equality, and a war that was happening in a different country. A general consensus can be made that the cigarette companies used the negative things happening in life to gain tremendous amounts of money. All this evidence is to prove how even two rival companies battle against each other for higher revenue while still holding composers and not placing negativity towards their actual agendas.

    1. I do agree with you. Using the beauty of a woman is a good strategy for advertisements. Reading from the beginning to the end is confusing.

  18. Looking back at the first photograph I do see the designer’s purpose of the photograph but a lot of people are not okay with it. It would’ve been just a well to get the point across of a man standing by himself wearing the suite. Including a woman in nude ironing his clothes and objectifying her was not necessary. It makes women insecure, disrespected, and exposed. Women are strong for all the struggles and inequalities they face, yet they don’t get enough credit for it. Women should be highly respected for all the barriers they broken down, obstacles they’ve jumped over and stereotypes they’ve proved wrong.
The advertisement says that society will never change and if it ever would, it won’t be an easy process. The problem with sexism towards women has been going on for decades and still exists today. It’s very unfortunate that many people see women as objects, and appealing for oneself. Women have been going through something as the world calls “different but equal”. If they are going to be seen as different they should be seen different for the things that balance everything out between both genders.
