  1. Internal motivation is something that just moves you to want to do better. That voice in your head that says you can keep going, on whatever the circumstance may be.
External motivation is wanting to achieve a goal because you're getting something out of it, like winning a race because you know you'll get a trophy to add to your collection.
One thing that makes me understand motivation a little more, was Chapter 3-3b. Visualizing my ideal future is something that keeps me motivated on a day to day basis. mostly during work, I've had the big picture, and would continuously try to seek solutions that were abrupt, because I was motivated to finish the task that needed to be completed. Now it's not just work, i'm 23 years old and I have finally created the 5 & 10 year plan, and different routes that I could take to get there.

  2. Internal motivation is seen when a person undertakes an activity for its own sake without any sort of external reward, such as a hobby. External motivation drives people to do things for tangible rewards or pressures, rather than for the fun of it. One thing from the textbook that helped me understand motivation in a better manner was the formula for motivation. "V × E = M " value and expectation are all important factors on being a motivated individual. The value people place on college will help us all earn the degrees we seek. And the expectations we have on our future is what should help to motivate us to keep moving forward in school, and life in general.

  3. Internal motivation is when a person does things because they love doing it, with no reward at the end. External motivation is when somebody does something to get a reward out of it. What helped me understand motivation best from chapter 3 was my future. How i see myself in the future motivates me because that is exactly how i want my life to turn out. And i would do what ever it takes to get to where i want to be.

  4. The difference between internal motivation and external motivation is that internal motivation is that motivation that comes within yourself. When you want something you must have that internal feeling to be able and accomplish it. External motivation has more to do with influence. You're influenced by other people. Something from the textbook that helped me understand it, is that you always have to stay motived to get where you want to be.

  5. Internal motivation is something that someone uses to motivate themselves and external motivation it has to do with what your influence by others to achieve a certain goal. What I learn from the textbook in chapter 3 is to motivate yourself and to set bigger goals is to always set smaller goals and move up

  6. Internal motivation is that feeling you have inside for something that steady drives you towards it no matter who or what obstacle may stand in he or she way. Such as for instant me, in my career owning my own business is a dream and goal of mine. The process though to owning your own business isn't no walk in the park. Its a lot that go into being a business owner and to me that is the external motivation. After reviewing chapter 3 I now know that this is a necessity to accomplishing my dream.

  7. Internal motivation is when you have a desire to do something and external motivation is when you are influenced to do something from outside sources . One thing that I learned from chapter 3 of the text book is how to set realistic and achievable goals to help you stay motivated.

  8. Internal motivation is comes from your gut. Like going for a six mile job just to do it. You are achieving a personal goal which you do not receive absolutely nothing for completing. External motivation is accepting a challenge from someone because you think you can do it.

  9. Internal motivation is what drives us from within our selves and keeps us going even when we feel we can not push any further. Its is great to have because, when you have big life obstacles and you feel like you are never going to reach them but, one day you finally get over that mountain then that is the best feeling in the world and knowing you worked so hard for it. External motivation is a driving force outside from yourself such as, family they keep your spirits u even if you feel down or worthless and make it worth the while especially when you reach your goal. What I learned from chapter three of our text book was that even when you feel you are not getting anywhere but, you know you are trying then reevaluate the situation to fit you and make it better as if you were getting somewhere.

  10. Internal motivation to me is that I want to graduate college and have a career to feel good about myself. i tell myself that I can do it. I tell myself that yes it will get harder but I want to graduate. I want to see myself walk across that stage. I just have that image of me walking across that stage and this motivates me. External motivation I think are the people around me. My family is my motivation to keep on going. I learned new strategies on taking notes. For example I did not know we could take notes with an outline or with a structure of three columns or even with a concept map. These strategies are really interesting.

  11. Reading chapter 3 has taught me how important it is to set goals for ourselves and how important it is to have motivation through school. I believe that internal motivation is really important because that is ourselves believing in ourselves, That means we are able to push through any troubles we have in school whether it be a test we failed or struggling with homework. If you have internal motivation the impossible becomes possible. External motivation is something that benefits us even more because when we know someone else believes in us we tend to work harder because we don't want to let that person down. The best strategy I learned in this chapter is the formula to motivation V x E = M, I will always think of this when creating new goals.

  12. Internal motivation is when you have your values set. You are working toward obtaining your college degree because this will give a chance for a better like. Your expectations are also high, so you work toward the goal of getting your degree. As a student we work have high expectations in our self. What I learned from chapter 3 is that V+E=M. Values plus Expectation equals motivation. Obtaining a higher education will make my life easier in the long run.

  13. Internal motivation is something you like to do and you want to keep doing it because you are enjoying it. As for external motivation is something you keep doing because you are getting something in return that you like. What I learned from chapter is that many people do not succeed because of small things they can improve in but never do, so I will not take things for granted and continue to reach my goals.

  14. The difference between internal motivation and external motivation is that internal motivation is when you get that one feeling ,or you hear that inner voice inside of you telling you..."You can do it"! which is telling you to make the right decision in life, and external motivation is something that comes from the outside i.e. motivaton from friends, family, etc. One thing from chapter three that helped me understand more about motivation was the formula for motivation which is VxE=M because i have come to realize that when you value yourself in who you are and when you look towards the expectations you have or make in your life you start to feel that spark that moves inside of you trying to motivate you.to do better and not give up in life.

  15. Internal Motivation is when wanting to do something without recognition just for your own pleasure. External Motivation is something you do to get recognition for and be rewarded by it. Visualizing is something very helpful and always got me through something I was negative about. But Chapter three really broke it down to relax, use present tense , use all five senses, and feel the feelings. it just helps you push yourself more and accomplish your goals.

  16. Internal Motivation is a feeling inside you that drives you to stay motivated to achieve goals. External Motivation comes from all the people that influence you to do better and drive you to achieve your goal. Something I learned from chapter 3 is VxE=M this formula teaches you all the assets you need to stay motivated.
