He explains the ins and outs of the game by explaining in detail the logic of paintball also provides statistics as well as even explaining the challenges and danger of such game if not played by the rules or safely.

    3. Ross appeal to pathos is rational and empathetic. I like the manner in which he describes the advantages of the sport but also discusses the misconceptions of the game. He shows empathy when he explains the accident that happened to his friend who lost an eye after shooting himself in the eye, and the critical importance of wearing safety gear appropriately and understand why people perceive this sport as dangerous.

  6. 2. Ross appeals to ethos very effectively. He promotes the game as "fun" and makes it seem positive and entertaining. His description of paintball is far from bias, as he also explains the facts and describes each game from a good sportsmanship point of view; and still accepts the little concerns over the sport. He is a trustworthy and knowledgeable person.

    3. Ross connects paintball to other fun sports as to say they can also be just as fun, approachable, and very similar in their athletic features. He also compares misconceptions about paintball to other situations, in order to point out how little they have to do with one another. Ross does mention a bad occasion in which one of his friend had an accident using a paint marker, therefore accepting that misuse of the equipment can cause accidents. That appeals to Pathos very effectively.

    4. In Ross's appeal to logos, he explains how paintball is a good sport that practices good sportsmanship and has a positive vibe for its players. He provides details of what happens after the game, and how players come together to celebrate a win and not a massacre, thus promoting how paintball is also socially positive and enjoyable. Ross accepts that it can be dangerous for the younger audience because of the bruising and the pain, but still highly believes that it is good for the older players.

His tone and style, both energetic and non-threatening, portray an exhilarating team sport. His is empathetic toward injuries caused by the sport and condemns the sport equipment's use in acts of public violence.

    4. Ross offers many first-hand reasons to support his claim, however his evidence is rather weak and clouded by personal bias. The responses to opposing views are the essay's weakness. Ross minimizes injuries and uses anecdotal narratives to dismiss legitimate health concerns.

  8. 2. I think Ross appeals to ethos effectively by providing examples. He provides personal experiences by persuading the readers that paintball is just a fun healthy way to relieve tension. He provides evidence to support his claim. Also being a paintball-er himself, he brings knowledge to his essay.

    3. Ross does a great job expressing how paintball is athletic and mentally challenging just like any other sport. It requires teamwork. He talks about his personal experience with a friend had misused the paintball gun. But he makes valid statements on how its only a small percentage of people who are bad apples that give the sport a bad name. But he also backs it up with example from other sport such as baseball and how a few bad apples who misuse the equipment does not make it a violent sport. He goes into detail on what all requires in paintball and how challenging and athletic it actually is.

    4. Ross appeals to logos by explaining with facts that Fortune 500 companies take their employees to play paintball to help communicate with one another better. It shows how effective it works in the workforce by teamwork strategy. He also express that its not suitable to younger children. He explains it provides a positive mental challenge and that it is a healthy release of tension for adults.

  9. 2. Ross's appeals to ethos in this argument are very effective because he explains that he is an avid player letting the audience know that he has experience in what he is writing about. Ross creates a persona that I find trustworthy and compelling because he uses examples of personal experience and also uses references of other sources such as businesses relating to playing paintball to enhance teamwork skills and describes in great detail the excitement of the game.

    3. Ross appeals to pathos effectively because he explains in depth both the positive and negative outcomes of the sport. He explains many positive situations of the sport because of the excitement that the sport draws and that the sport is not intended for a violent outcome. He goes into detail of how fun and exciting paintball is by explaining how exhilarating the sport is by using vivid words to describe how he and his teammates work together and the strategies that they use when they play. Ross does express empathy when he summarizes the objections when he explains how there are some people that have had eye injuries due to being careless by not wearing the proper safety equipment and also some people are use paintball guns negatively by drive-by paint-balling.

4.Ross's appeals to logos are very effective in the way he uses references to a website stating that companies take their employees to play paintball as a teamwork strategy. Ross's responses to opposing views are also effective because he uses the source from writer Cheryl Guttman to effectively provide the negative outcome of eye injuries.

  10. 2. Ross's appeal to Ethos are to the point. He points out very legitimate reasons as to why paint ball is a very useful sport compared to a violent sport. He brings out the camaraderie the sport and shows how it can build strong working relationships in the work place. He also points out that this sport requires you to think strategically before making a move to an enemy which is the same as making the right decisions out work. Also he continues to say this game makes someone exercise physically which is healthy to all of us. All in all paintball outweighs the negativity that people are trying to say against it.

    3. Ross's appeal to pathos is great. He gives out examples which prove to the audience that paint is a good sport. He mentions that paintball requires cooperation just like everyday life of everyone and great communication skills are required to succeed as a team. He compares paintball with other sports like baseball. In baseball, one can use the butt to hit someone and some people can perceive it as dangerous. He shows empathy with readers when he admits at some point that paintball is at times violent, but not the evil activity that folks portray it. He continues by saying injuries can occur when proper personal protective equipment is not worn. He concludes by saying that paintball deserves the same respect as other sports

    4. Roos's effective on appeals in logos by the way he shows the 500 fortune companies succeeds in thinking together as a group. Bringing in the team spirit together bring all skilled and unskilled people/personnel. Ross's responses to opposition view is by him pointing out the the Article of Cheryl Guttman in a trade magazine where it warns that eye injuries from paintball are on the rise. But the reasons why they get injured is by them not wearing eye protection. Just like other sports like football, you have to wear a helmet to avoid head on collision.

  11. 2. Ross Taylor comes across as very knowledgeable in the sport of paint ball. He describes the sport as "fun, athletic, mentally challenging recreational activity that builds teamwork and releases tension" and not just a game of shooting one another for fun. He clears up many misconceptions people have about paintball. If I were to play paintball I would trust his coaching and advice on the sport, so I believe he appeals to ethos quite well

    3. Ross Taylor appeals to pathos well by incorporating his own experiences into this passage. By doing this he gives the reader real life scenarios to consider about playing paintball.

    3. Ross Taylor uses logos well also be relating paintball to people lives and how it can improve relationships. He talks about how companies use paint ball as a team building opportunity and can incorporate both men and women, and all skill levels, to work as one.
